Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorders are among the most common mental health conditions, affecting millions of people worldwide. Characterized by excessive worry, fear, and apprehension, these disorders can significantly impact daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Symptoms may manifest as restlessness, difficulty concentrating, rumination, and/or physical symptoms such as increased heart rate and muscle tension.
Whether you or a loved one suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, or Specific Phobias, the challenges can feel overwhelming. However, it's important to know that effective treatments are available, and recovery is possible. At the OCD and Anxiety Treatment Center of Maryland, evidence-based treatments tailored to the unique needs of each client are utilized to help sufferers overcome anxiety based challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including interventions such as cognitive restructuring, exposure and response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness, help clients develop self-efficacy and overcome often debilitating fears that interfere with well-being and enjoyment of life. Additionally, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotion Efficacy Therapy (EET) and other modalities are frequently used adjunctively to empower clients with the tools and support needed to navigate anxiety, foster resilience, and reclaim their lives.
